What is Meditation?

Meditation is a quality of being, according to several gurus and teachers. There are many entry points to the practice. Ultimately we are choosing to strengthen our capacities as interconnected, divine beings.

our meditation program (private training sessions available)

Yolanda started leading meditations in 2015 with close friends and family after years of practicing mindfulness. Her voice, soothing and clear from years of reciting poetry and singing, flowed by invitation into corporate environments and retreat spaces across the country. After seeing a trend in how emotional and mental regulation was positively impacting one’s physical health and life choices, Yolanda deepened her training and became a formal instructor. Today Yolanda guides small to large groups of people through mindfulness meditation in various settings. The purpose of our meditation program is to build mental strength through consistency and community practice. No pressure, no trophy. All are welcome and open sessions are usually sponsored or donation-based to support venue cost. Private training sessions are fee-based and must be booked two weeks in advance.

Group/organizational facilitation

Yolanda has been facilitating groups for nearly two decades, starting as a inexperienced yet zealous student leader in college and evolving into a best-in-class facilitator who can move a room with just a few markers and paper. Yolanda has brought groups together in colleges, nonprofits, at manufacturing factories, in Silicon Valley, and even at The Pentagon. These past selves carried a through line of facilitating difficult conversations, holding multiple perspectives, and being an honest steward of knowledge and forward action. Today Yolanda’s primary focus is on helping visionaries land community health and wellness initiatives without neglecting their bodies. This includes leading mindfulness and meditation sessions like at the Don’t Call Me Strong Retreat with the Myers-Galloway Counseling Group or developing strategy & plans to prioritize social justice in yoga. Her presence, lived experiences and so much more promises a transformative experience for your group!
