Hey

Yolanda Youngblood is a mindfulness meditation instructor and the creator of the Need I Remind U newsletter and podcast. Yolanda was introduced to mindfulness meditation in 2015 while working in Crystal City, Virginia. A senior manager at a consulting firm invited Yolanda and a few other people into a candle-lit room to get still and…laugh (not what any of us expected when she told us we’d be meditating). Yolanda learned then that there were many ways to meditate and be with herself in an open and gentle way. She continued to study and practice meditation and mindfulness, drawing a great deal of resources from meditation expert Tara Brach and also her older (and wiser) sister. A writer since childhood, Yolanda would also attend workshops in D.C. (and in California after relocating to the West Coast) that intersected writing with contemplation, range, and other overlapping values of meditation. She became a Certified Mindfulness Instructor through MNDL under Reverend angel Kyodo Williams and Dr. David Perrin in 2021 while simultaneously completing a nine-month program through Mindful NYU. She continues to learn from teachers like Rev angel, Lama Rod Owens, and the creators at BEAM (Black Emotional & Mental Health Collective) to refine her means and capacity to help guide people especially non-dominant populations. Yolanda has traveled the world practicing at various studios and open spaces connecting with people of all backgrounds and ages with great ease and joy. In 2023 she completed the 200-hr Womb Wisdom Wellness Yoga Teacher Training with the Yoga Innergy Collective led by Chocolako Agburu in Ubud, Bali, Indonesia. Yolanda currently leads meditation classes in Fort-Walton Beach / Destin, FL and travels, upon request.
